Assessment
Method: Q = V·ρ·cp·ΔT with density and specific heat at the mean fluid temperature from CoolProp 8.0 (water IAPWS-95, ethylene and propylene glycol as mass fraction after Melinder). The capacity factor compares ρ·cp with water at 20 °C (4176 kJ/(m³·K)); it shows how much capacity the same flow carries. Excel mode reproduces the common hand formula Q = ΔT·V·c with 1 l = 1 kg; with c = 4.184 kJ/(kg·K) it equals the IP rule TR = ΔT°F·GPM·500 / 12 000 within 0.1 %. Conversions: 1 TR = 3.516853 kW = 12 000 BTU/h, 1 kW = 3412.14 BTU/h = 859.85 kcal/h, 1 l/s = 15.850323 GPM (US) = 3.6 m³/h, ΔT 1 K = 1.8 °F. COP = Q / Pel, EER = 3.412·COP in BTU/Wh, kW/TR = 3.516853 / COP. Measurement uncertainty from two independent temperature sensors: ±√2·accuracy / ΔT.
