Method: total pressure of the fan = external pressure + pressure drop in the unit. The fan is selected for the final filter pressure drop at its design speed (maximum speed / (1 + speed reserve)) with the design point at 70 % of the free air flow of that speed, near the best efficiency. Generic fan curve Δp = p0 (s² − (V / Vmax)²) for speed ratio s; fan efficiency η = ηmax (1 − 1.2 ((φ − 0.7) / 0.7)²), at least 25 % of ηmax, with φ = V / (s Vmax); drive efficiency (motor, electronics, belt) ηd (1 − 0.2 e^(−x / 0.15)) with the shaft load x relative to the design maximum. System curve Δp = pc + (Δpd − pc) (V / Vd)² with the constant part pc of a duct pressure control and the filters at their mean pressure drop (initial + final) / 2 for SFP and energy. Air power V × Δp, shaft power / ηfan, electrical power / ηdrive; SFP = Pel / V in W/(m³/s) with the classes SFP 1 to 7 of EN 16798-3 (500, 750, 1250, 2000, 3000, 4500 W/(m³/s)). ErP minimum efficiency per EU 327/2011 (from 2015) for the overall static efficiency with the efficiency grades N = 62 (plug fan), 64 (with housing), 49 (forward curved) and 40 (axial). Redundancy N+1: the remaining fans must deliver the design flow at the final filter pressure drop. Annual energy = operating hours × Σ time share × Pel at the load step.
