Method: outdoor air per EN 16798-1 Annex B, method 1: q = n × qp + A × qB with qp = 10 / 7 / 4 / 2.5 l/s per person and qB = 0.5 / 0.35 / 0.2 / 0.15 (very low-polluting), 1.0 / 0.7 / 0.4 / 0.3 (low-polluting) or 2.0 / 1.4 / 0.8 / 0.6 l/(s·m²) (not low-polluting) for categories I / II / III / IV, divided by the ventilation effectiveness εv. Method 2 (CO₂ limit): q = n × G / ΔC with a CO₂ emission G = 17 l/h per person and met (adult) and ΔC = 550 / 800 / 1350 / 1350 ppm above outdoor air, but not less than the building component A × qB. Occupancy from the floor area per person of EN 16798-1 / EN 15251 (single office 10, open-plan office 15, meeting room 2, classroom 2, auditorium 0.75, restaurant 1.5, retail 7 m² per person) unless entered. CO₂ in the room: steady state C = Cout + n × G / (q × εv), course over time with C(t) = Css + (C0 − Css) × e^(−q t / V) for the occupied hours and the decay afterwards. Supply air for the sensible cooling load V = Q / (ρ × cp × Δt) with ρ × cp = 0.335 Wh/(m³·K); all-air system: supply air = higher of outdoor air and cooling air, the difference is recirculated; outdoor air + room units: supply air = outdoor air, room units cover the rest of the load. IT and technical rooms are cooled by recirculating units; the air handling unit supplies only their outdoor air. AHU cross-section = design air flow × diversity / face velocity, velocity class per EN 13053. Disclaimer: this tool is a planning aid.
